PASSPORTS

The Clerk of Court is an acceptance agent for first time Passport applications. Applications for renewals and amendments may be obtained from our office.

Passport fees for applicants 16 years and older:
$25.00 - check or cash to Lafourche Parish clerk of Court
$75.00 - check or Money Order to US Department of State
$60.00 - expedite-extra fee (Passport is valid for 10 year period)

$14.85 - mail return express (optional)

Passport fees for applicants under 16 years of age:
$25.00 - check or cash to Lafourche Parish Clerk of Court
$60.00 - check or Money Order to US Department of State
$60.00 - expedite-extra fee (Passport is valid for 5 year period)

$14.85 - mail return express (optional)

Documents needed to obtain a passport:
Certified Copy of applicant’s birth certificate or previous passport, valid driver’s license and 2 (2x2) passport photos.

For Children under the age of 16, both parents and child must appear to apply for the passport (if one parent is unable to appear please see website for further details, travel.state.gov). For children 16 thru 17 years of age one parent and child must appear.

Currently the turn around period for regular services is 4 weeks and expedited services is 3 weeks.
